FOUR is Radius Books’ fourth in an ongoing series of limited edition photography projects. Like the previous three volumes, the book combines photographic images with pieces of text, all of which respond to a joint theme. For this edition, the theme is centered on artists’ and writers’ connections to images of birds.  Using the theme as a conceptual starting point, we asked each artist to provide an image based on their interpretation, then asked a writer to respond while keeping broader implications in mind, such as issues of ecology, climate, wonder, mythology, and the persistent appeal these creatures have for contemporary artists. As with previous editions, each picture was printed by Michael Lundgren on Hahnemühle paper, signed by the artist, and hand-tipped into each book.

All proceeds go directly to help fund the Radius Books library donation program.

Special thanks to the Lannan Foundation for their ongoing support.
