Tony DeLap: A Unique Perspective takes a look at the art and career of California artist Tony DeLap, pioneer of West Coast minimalism and Op Art. The film, from Director Dale Schierholt, brings us inside the studio of this renowned painter and sculptor. Viewers will have the opportunity to witness DeLap at work and listen as he engages in the intimate and candid discussions. Throughout the film, DeLap offers insights into his processes and shares the motivations and influences on his iconic art. The first in Schierholt's series California Masters, the film offers each viewer their own personal studio visit with this engaging artist that helped define California Art in the 60s while continuing to produce challenging and powerful work today - well into his 80's.
Immediately following the film will be a book signing for the new 192 page survey book, Tony DeLap, published by Radius Books and Art Santa Fe Presents.
